Feb 2004

In the beginning of 2004, i was struck down by a mystery illness, i became very unwell and was bed ridden for many months. When i talk about it now i don't know how on earth i managed, as six months prior i had left the father of my three children and was on my own trying to bring the children up. William was 2 years old ,Lucy 4 years old and James was 7 years old, I did the best i could and also had the love and help of my lovely boyfriend who i met whilst living in rented accommodation awaiting my divorce settlement. He is still in my life today and I am truly grateful that are paths crossed. Over time I started to have really bad head aches along with what felt like huge pressure around my head area but i kept going to the doctors and they did various blood tests, but nothing could be found. At one point i started to drop things and my speech would slur and then one day my face started to swell on the left hand side near my cheek bone. I had tried to do research on what could be wrong with me and i thought i may have Lyme's disease, another blood test was done and to my relief came back clear. Now that my face was swelling the doctor finally had a diagnoses Chronic Sinusitis i was given a massive dose of antibiotics 1000 mg 4 times a day. Although the antibiotics seem to be making me feel worst in the end i started to recover. I never really felt that i got to the bottom of my illness and so decided to seek a private consultant and get a second opinion. I paid about £100 plus vat and was told that they couldn't comment on what i had been suffering from, however they did say i was now suffering from chronic fatigue due to post viral illness.

I choose to ignore this and felt i didn't have time for chronic fatigue.
